Treasure in the Field

Is there a treasure,
hidden in open sight?
One with the ability,
to change a life, overnight?

Is there something more precious,
than silver and gold?
More rare than diamonds and emeralds,
with value untold?

A man came upon this treasure,
in another mans field.
Longing to possess it,
he laid down his will.

Selling all that he had,
to own this treasure.
He sought it's possession,
beyond any measure.

As he found and acquired,
with all that he had!
Many around him,
declared him as mad.

"Have you lost your mind,
there is nothing there.
All that you own,
is just thin air!"

But the faith of the owner,
never embraced any doubt.
As a matter of fact,
he offered this treasure,
to those round about.

At the death of the owner,
his treasure was great.
His rewards were many,
because of his faith.

The world will tell you,
there is no treasure here.
But the bodies of doubt,
can neither see nor hear.

So what is this treasure,
of eternal proportions ?
His Name is Jesus!
And to those who believe,
He is all of our fortunes.

Believe to Receive

To believe is to conceive,
like a husband and wife.
The two must be present,
in the forming of life.

Receiving comes from believing,
they're an inseparable pair.
But when belief isn't present,
receiving can't bear.

Just as a seed is planted,
and starts to ascend.
For full growth to come,
it must not bend.

So when we believe,
there can be no doubt.
For doubt is the worm,
that chews off the sprout.

So for our harvest to come,
 as we have planned.
Faith must the fertilizer,
upon our land.

One Stepped Out

After feeding the masses,
And praying all night.
JESUS set out,
Just before light.

Walking the sea,
Like no mortal could.
When the disciples first saw Him,
None understood.

They said, "it's a spirit,
Walking the sea".
JESUS, called back,
No, it's just Me.

Peter said Lord,
If it's really you.
Allow me to come,
And do as you do.

JESUS said come,
To this man of the sea.
Then with his eyes on JESUS,
his trust was in He.

Peter walked on the water,
Like no mortal before.
Then he felt the wind and the waves,
Pushing from shore.

The wind and the waves,
began coming so near.
Then Peter's faith began to falter,
As he did fear.

In the blink of an eye,
The water was cold.
Attempting to drown,
One fearless and bold.

JESUS saved Peter,
When he fell into doubt.
For though he fell,
Only Peter stepped out.
