Missing You

I thought I'd just write,
To let you know.
I've been missing you,
And I still love you so.

I know we don't visit,
or talk like we should.
But every time that I call,
You say the times not good.

Every time I make plans,
For just you and Me.
Something always comes up,
And you can't get free.

I grow jealous for time,
With you alone.
You see I still love you,
Even though you've been gone.

Call anytime,
You have my number.
For I never sleep,
 Nor do I slumber.

So from My throne in heaven,
I just wanted you to know.
I miss you,
And I still love you so.❤️

The Prayer

My past is checkered,
My friend are few.
God, I seek answers,
Of what I should do.

Can I find mercy?
When I've shown none.
Is there hope for me,
For the things I have done?

Is there peace for me?
No matter my wealth.
Is there really healing for my body,
When in poor health?

Does God love a man,
Such as I?
If I were God...
I wouldn't even try.

Is God so full
of compassion and care?
That He'd love a man,
People can't bear.

Forgive me God,
I don't know how to pray.
But these are the questions,
I have this day.

God, your book says,
If I ask from my heart.
You'll wipe away the slate,
And I'll have clean start.

Well God,
This is all I know to say.
But from now on,
I'll follow your way.

A Fisherman's Tale

I was just a fisherman,
by trade.
By the work of my hands,
my living was made.

Until the day,
I met a teacher of God's Word,
These truths that He spoke,
never had I heard.

I thought Him to be,
like a prophet of old.
Little did I know,
He was the Savior foretold.

When He spoke,
all gave an ear.
He taught love and forgiveness,
for all to hear.

He taught that it is better,
to give than receive.
And that God rewards,
those that believe.

His Words were like water,
that gave men life.
Never conceded,
never in strife.

But for those who feared Him,
with rage they did burn.
With hearts so hard,
refusing to turn.

Then one night...
they came and they took Him,
on the charge of a lie.
Two days later,
He was sentenced to die.

Wrapped in grave clothes,
and buried in a cave.
We thought all was now lost,
for all, He had gave.

 All believed...
they'd seen the last of Him.
But on the third morning,
He arose... my friend!

Lead On

When I couldn't walk,
You held me.
When I could only crawl,
You carried me.

When I tried to walk,
I fell and stumbled.
Then You picked me up,
and let me lean on You.

Though it took me longer,
than most to learn to walk.
You never complained,
You were never upset.

I still fall from time to time,
but it's never far.
Thanks to Your hand,
holding mine.

Though I don't run as wildly,
as many do.
It's because I know how it hurts,
to fall away from You.

I just wanted to say,
Thank You, Lord.
For everything You've done,
and too tell You, I love You.

May I never forget,
how far You've brought me.
Lead on Lord JESUS,
Lead on...
